The Ghost I Am

Fri Nov 13, 2009, 4:33 PM
Searching for the one I love,
stumbling over cracks of mud,
and blades of grass slice my palms,
tracing their lines like a bloody treasure map.

Pick yourself up, figure eight around streetlights.
Spin and twirl, spiral and swirl.
I'm swimming through the midnight sky,
floating on a year gone by.

The ghost of who you used to be
is haunting all of my memories.
And I'm not ready,
no, I'm not ready
to let you fade away...

Hey Hannah, time to update that journal I think, ahah. I hope all is well. I'm wondering, how do I go about setting up for being able to offer prints of my photos?

Whatever happens, ya live through it. It creates who we are, how we live, and who we become.

Hey, so I love your work by the way. I just purchased a Canon 20D from a friend, great condish. I'm trying to expand my horizons, if I can say that, and genres of pictures and whatnot. I want to start doing portrait work, but don't know where to start. Not as easy as asking someone to smile. For your model work, do you let them act how they wish, or do you ask them for emotions and whatnot? Peace.

um yeah, i pretty much just let them pick whether they want to smile or not first. Then after 2 or 3 shots i'll say "alright now a big smile" or "ok lets do this one sober". The big key for me is to just keep moving smoothly. If you tell them things like "that's beautiful, now try a little less with your lips closed. *shoot* gorgeous." It makes them feel more at ease and comfortable in their skin. I did senior pictures for this guy the other week and he was very nervous. Every time i tried taking a picture, his eyes would flicker away from the camera and look everywhere. something that helped him was when i started counting down until i took the picture. so like, "alright, now 1-2-3 *shoot*, and 1-2-3 *shoot*. great these are looking good" He started to feel much better and loosened up a lot.

I hope all of that helped!!
another helpful tip- guys should be posed in "C" like shapes, and girls in "S" like shapes.

let me know if you have anymore questions
